Joanna is a fully qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist accredited through the professional body British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She originally specialised in and has extensive clinical experience in the area of grief, loss and bereavement. Additionally, she is also a fully qualified Specialist in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with a MSc in Trauma through Queens University, Belfast. She is CBT accredited through British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP). Furthermore, Joanna is a therapist who specializes in Narcissistic Abuse. She is a certified Narcissistic Abuse treatment clinician and has over ten years clinical experience.


As a clinician, not only does Joanna have a keen interest in Narcissistic abuse but also the area of Post Traumatic Growth (PGT) completing her MSc dissertation on the subject. PGT refers to the positive change some individuals experience after facing a traumatic event or life crisis. This growth can lead to new possibilities, improved relationships, a greater appreciation for life and a deeper sense of personal strength. PGT does not deny the distress caused by trauma but suggests that adversity has the potential to lead to significant personal development, evolution in spirituality and changes in understanding oneself and the world. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Is a type of talking therapy that looks at how our thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours influence each other. The aim of CBT is to provide you with an opportunity to explore and better understand your thinking styles and behaviour patterns while learning new techniques for improving your psychological health and wellbeing in a safe, confidential and supportive environment. National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) provide independent, evidence-based guidance for the NHS on the most effective ways to treat disease, ill health and mood disorders. NICE guideline recommends CBT as one of the most effective treatments for the following disorders: Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Social Anxiety, Generalised Anxiety and phobias among others. Joanna is a fully qualified therapeutic counselling supervisor. She has been working as a supervisor for over 5 years, initially qualifying with a certificate in Supervision and then going on to complete a postgraduate level 6 certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision. Joanna is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland and currently provides online or telephone counselling allowing you to access support from the comfort of your own home. Joanna welcomes clients from Belfast, across Northern Ireland, the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
Integrative counselling sessions for individuals lasts 50 minutes, usually on a weekly basis and cost £75 per session.
Individual Supervision usually on a monthly basis costs £75 per hour and £110 per 1.5 hour supervision session.
Specialist Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for individuals lasts 50 minutes, usually on a weekly basis and cost £75 per session.
